Still 18 y.o.

Hey guys!
Good morning! Good afternoon! Good evening! Good night! (I'm so happy that people all over the world read my blog :D)

At the moment it is 9:30 PM (3rd of August) in my country. And tomorrow, i.e. after couple of hours, is my Birthday! (Actually I'm not that excited, so the exclamation mark here was unnecessary -_-). But now, I'm still 18 years old.

18 is some special age. Older people usually mention exactly this age, when they remember their youth. Underage people often wait for this age. 18 is the culmination of your childhood. This age has a lot of different meanings and that may be the reason of why am I excited about my birthday. Unlike other people, I'm not concerned about getting old, no. Possibly, because I look young, younger than my friends. This feature was passed to me from my father. My father also looks young. Some people even think that he is my brother. Since I can't explain my feelings (it happens, believe me), I'll tell you how did I spend my sweet 18.

The last year was the time full of new things: new home, new people, new environment, new world (i.e. software), new language and finally new me. Yes, I think I changed a lot this year, because everything around me changed as well. I became taller! Just kidding (but I actually became taller :D ). I found a lot of new friends and couple of FRIENDS this year. They taught me a lot. I learned to stay calm, when you have tons of deadlines. I learned to stay away from some things, even if you want them so bad. I learned to appreciate my country and my family. And the main thing, I became more confident. I learned a lot of stuff in my first year in the university, but I can't say all at once. Instead, I can give you a short list of things I did during the last year. Here it is:

  • Started learning new language (German)
  • Got my driver's license
  • Successfully finished my first year in the university
  • Learned a lot of swear words in many different languages :D
  • Recommenced my training ( martial arts)
  • Watched Star Wars :)
  • Quit Physics
  • Started wearing contact lenses
  • Learned skateboarding
  • Went hunting
  • Started playing video games (I rarely did before)
  • Started drinking coffee
  • Learned to stay awake for a long time
  • Learned to sleep for a long time
  • Ate a lot of new food
  • Learned some German songs
And many many other things, but that's what I could come up with at the moment (still I'm only 18 and I'm not that smart yet). Now, I guess I'll switch off my phone & laptop and go sleep with some interesting book :). Otherwise, I'll stay awake until 2-3 AM chatting with a lot of people. And that's not what I want, cause I have a lot of good things planned for tomorrow.

Remember, age is not just a number, age is a word :D

Have a good time there,
Tima

Enjoying super-fast internet. NOT.

Hello world!
(I just wanted to say this phrase, even though most of the "hackers" may have different memories regarding "Hello World!" :P )

It's been a while since I published here my last post. If you are wondering if was I doing anything useful these days, the answer is yes. I was working hard in order to get my driver's license (may be that is the reason why I was the only one in my group who passed the final exam). So, the last week I finally got the rights to drive the car in complete freedom (i.e. without hiding from police officers).

Other than that, I play tennis every other day and hang out with my friends. I guess that is not that interesting way to spend the summer, yet for me, it is just the way to relax and prepare for my second year at Jacobs University.

Already 2/3 of this summer is behind and I think everyone could get enough impressions in those 2 months. But if to be optimistic, we still have the whole 30 days of warm weather (at least in Osh). Since I've got my driver's license, now I have much more of free time. I have made great plans for the last month of my summer, but there is a SMALL problem - BAD internet connection. And this SMALL problem ruins some parts of my plans. Such kind of connection should be usual for my city, but the last days the connection became much worse. For you to understand how bad it is, it took me 15 minutes to open the site with speed-test. Then it took me another 15 minutes to open the site where I could send a complaint to my internet provider with the screenshot of the speed-test results. But at the end my patience was exhausted and I gave up. The next day I asked my friend to do that instead of me (he probably has better internet connection). Internet connection is still bad, however you are reading this. Which means I succeeded to publish this post, so there is still hope.

Took me a moment :D

Hope you have better internet connection,
Tima
