Today is the November 1st, which means I didn't write a single post for the month of October. There are many reasons for that, mainly because I had no inspiration to do so, but also because I had a busy month. What happened in October? Midterms, hackathon, quizzes, Charity Week and again midterms. For those of you who don't know what is hackathon, it is an event, usually lasting several days, in which large number of people meet to engage in collaborative computer programming. For me, it is the only chance to forget about all the deadlines and exams for couple of days, just to enjoy the atmosphere of coding and finally try things I wanted to try since long time ago. Of course this doesn't free me of my responsibilities, but inside, I don't feel obligated during the hackathon. This hackathon was held in our university and took place during the weekends. It was full of great impressions and emotions. I spent the whole 24 hours learning and trying out mobile application development using Python-Kivy. Generally, I enjoyed it a lot, but nothing comes for free. It costed me my weekend and on Sunday night I faced the following to do list...
This to do list is not even full!! Obviously, the probability of my survival was low. But I don't believe in complete darkness. There always will be a ray of hope and this ray was my friend, who decided to not go to the hackathon. I want to tell a bit about this person. He is also a second year computer science student at my university. I don't remember how we became friends, however I remember it was in the middle of my very first semester in this university. Since then, we studied together and helped each other in different situations. We survived the large waves of exams and deadlines. I'm sure, that each of us could handle that alone, but that would be far more difficult. We are all human and we have different phases and moods in our lives. Sometimes you are just full of energy and ready to overcome any obstacles you face and sometimes you are just powerless. Life may bring to you not the happiest news or you may just be tired and exhausted. At such moments, you are just not ready to fight for your life. Those are the days, when you need the person who grabs you and carries you through the fire. And you, in its turn, must be such a person for him. You probably have seen the picture below. It perfectly describes, what I'm trying to explain.
As you might have already guessed, after this hackathon, my friend carried me once again. That is the point, when I understood the real importance of a team. Working together when everything is okay is one thing. However when facing problems, you carry your team and team carries you. And if there is no one to carry and the whole team falls, it will hurt much less than if you were alone and getting up will be much faster than you expected. The only important thing, is to have good teammates.
I explained everything in terms of studies, just because that are the only obstacles I'm going through at the moment. But this rule applies everywhere. Wherever you are and whatever you are doing, going together is funnier and easier.
Find your team and conquer the highest peaks,
Temirlan Ulugbek uulu
